A self-directed alternative to a traditional CDL school
Get Your CDL Quick offers vehicle rental and limited vehicle familiarization for customers who arrive with previously acquired knowledge and skills from experience or independent self-study. This service model is intended as an alternative to a traditional CDL school program. The paid rental and familiarization services do not provide a comprehensive beginner curriculum or classroom instruction. Customers prepare and progress according to their existing ability.
Required FMCSA ELDT behind-the-wheel training is a separate, proficiency-based activity. Our Texas Workforce Commission exemption request is pending; TWC has not granted an exemption. Describing the business as an alternative to a school does not establish its regulatory status.
Get familiar with your test vehicle

A truck and trailer for your Class A path
Class A preparation involves a combination vehicle, rather than a single straight truck. Get Your CDL Quick offers vehicle rental and limited familiarization for customers who already have the knowledge and skills to operate the combination. Our pictured Freightliner M2 106 tractor and separate 28-foot pup trailer show this vehicle configuration. Confirm the vehicle available for your date before booking.
Apply your existing skills to the rented combination
Pre-trip familiarization helps you locate components on the specific truck and trailer. Backing familiarization gives you limited vehicle time to apply skills you already have to its dimensions and handling. Road familiarization is a separate short session. Applicable ELDT range and road activity is also separate; rental time alone does not establish completion.
Questions before you arrange service
Can I rent a truck and trailer for a Texas DPS skills test?
Contact us with your intended license class, permit status, test location and date. Vehicle suitability and availability must be confirmed before a reservation is arranged.
Is this a beginner classroom CDL program?
No. Paid rental and familiarization are for previously acquired knowledge and skills. Discuss separate applicable ELDT requirements and read the service disclosures before arranging service.
