Combination vehicle knowledge-test preparation is part of this path. Your existing license, restrictions and intended vehicle determine any additional requirements.

A self-directed alternative to a traditional CDL school
Get Your CDL Quick offers vehicle rental and limited vehicle familiarization for customers who arrive with previously acquired knowledge and skills from experience or independent self-study. This service model is intended as an alternative to a traditional CDL school program. The paid rental and familiarization services do not provide a comprehensive beginner curriculum or classroom instruction. Customers prepare and progress according to their existing ability.
Required FMCSA ELDT behind-the-wheel training is a separate, proficiency-based activity. Our Texas Workforce Commission exemption request is pending; TWC has not granted an exemption. Describing the business as an alternative to a school does not establish its regulatory status.
Plan the change from straight truck to combination vehicle
If you already hold a Class B CDL and want to pursue Class A, discuss the combination vehicle you intend to operate. Trailer tracking, coupling points and overall dimensions differ from a straight truck. Our rental and limited familiarization services help eligible customers apply existing knowledge and skills to the specific rented combination.
Separate your upgrade steps
Bring details of your current license and restrictions, intended vehicle and testing plans. Review applicable knowledge-test and ELDT requirements with current Texas DPS and FMCSA resources. Select rental and familiarization separately from required ELDT range and road activity; completing one service does not automatically complete the others.
Questions before you arrange service
Does a Class B CDL automatically cover a Class A combination?
Do not assume your existing license covers the intended combination. Confirm your license, permit and upgrade requirements with Texas DPS before arranging vehicle operation.
