A self-directed alternative to a traditional CDL school
Get Your CDL Quick offers vehicle rental and limited vehicle familiarization for customers who arrive with previously acquired knowledge and skills from experience or independent self-study. This service model is intended as an alternative to a traditional CDL school program. The paid rental and familiarization services do not provide a comprehensive beginner curriculum or classroom instruction. Customers prepare and progress according to their existing ability.
Required FMCSA ELDT behind-the-wheel training is a separate, proficiency-based activity. Our Texas Workforce Commission exemption request is pending; TWC has not granted an exemption. Describing the business as an alternative to a school does not establish its regulatory status.
Keep hazmat knowledge requirements separate from vehicle rental
A hazardous materials endorsement has its own requirements. Texas DPS requires TSA security clearance before issuing it, and applicable hazmat ELDT is a theory curriculum. Truck rental, familiarization and range or road activity do not substitute for those steps. Use Texas DPS hazmat endorsement information to review the current process.
Study resources and future practice access
Use the current Texas commercial driver handbook to organize independent study. Our online practice center and theory service remain in development; this page does not enroll you in an available hazmat theory course. Contact us about related vehicle needs and use a properly listed provider for any required theory.
Questions before you arrange service
Does the rental service include hazmat certification?
No. Vehicle rental and familiarization are separate from hazmat theory, knowledge testing and security clearance.
